District Science Fair
November 7, 2006

Determination, hard work and intensive research paid off as Phases Learning Center’s own delegation comprised of Grade Six Students, Jasmine Jade Chan, Justine Emmanuel Mercado and Cianine Annerick Banluta successfully defended their entry to the City-wide Science Investigatory Project Competition held at Baguio City National High School last October 5-7,2006. The science team bagged the 3rd place in the said event under their able mentor, Ms. Marjorie Baquiran.

The winning project entitled “ An Expanded Mapping of lead Pollution in Baguio City” was a continuation of last years winning entry that catapulted last year’s delegation, comprised of Joseph Rulla, Jemar Mapili and Nikolai Policarpio, to participate in the National Level which was held at Ilocos Sur in January of 2006.

Meanwhile, participants from 10 schools from District I trooped to Baguio Central School last October 14 to join the Science Quiz Bee of the District Science Fair, Elementary Level. Our very own pupils in Grade 3 - Anne Jorelle Castillo and Mike Rivera came in 6th place; Grade 5 pupil, Jonathan Jet Ruiz came in 5th while Grade 6 pupil, Jonalyn Tris Que came in 5th among 30 contestants in each Grade level

2006 Athletic District Meet
November 7, 2006

In the recently concluded District Meet held in October, Phases’ own woodpusher, Anne Nicole Rodas ably climbed her way up to gain the top position wining the Gold Medal while Kathleen Magsanoc came in second winning the Silver Medal.

Grade 4 student, Keno Anthony Mendoza likewise claimed the First Place winning another Gold medal for the school in the Taekwondo Event.

Meanwhile the Elementary Cheering Squad consisting of pupils from Grades 2 to 5 wowed the crowd during the opening ceremony and won the 1st Runner-up Trophy. It might be worth noting that it took only a 3 day practice and an on-the-spot decision to include a cheer dance using the Black Eyed Peas, “Pump It” that won the heart of the judges for the said competition.
